From my room full of books to my high school where I study disciplines from biology to philosophy, my desire to understand our world shapes my days. During my journey in Vanderbilt University, my search for knowledge will continue with the support of an in-depth and multi-dimensional education. As a prospective neuroscience major, I’ll further my efforts to under why each person behaves so differently when we have almost identical DNAs in Vanderbilt. As a person who views biology as a way to understand the world through questioning and making connections, I look forward to applying this lens to my studies in neuroscience. I hope to discover economics, delving into the topic of human interactions and connections. Via economics I wish to the world around me since it’s the discipline that sits at the heart of our current systems. With Vanderbilt’s interdisciplinary approach to the topic, poverty and health inequality will only be the faction of the problems I’ll be equipped to tackle after university. In Vanderbilt, I wouldn’t be limited to the areas I have started exploring in high school either. I see myself studying disciplines foreign to me such as anthropology, art history, and computer science. Through these inquiries, I hope to build a comprehensive worldview and be able to answer all my questions about our world.
