Looking for the right college can be one of the most difficult and frustrating challenges any student can face after getting through high school. With several hundreds of colleges and universities across the United States, it seems impossible to even attempt to find the best school tailored to each student’s needs and lifestyle. But in order to overcome this hurdle, every student must do his or her research. From there, he or she can narrow down the list of schools by specific majors, student life, tuition costs, geographic region, and more. For me, I will be featuring Arizona State University and the California Institute of Technology as my chosen schools to research and review. Arizona State University is considered to be the average college when it comes to the school’s rating in comparison to others in the nation. It is however transforming into a better school with its top ranking leading in innovation. The biggest advantage that I have if I attended here is that I would be able to learn and study right at home instead of having to move away into a new place. Unfortunately, this makes it a prestigious school, one that will be extremely difficult to get into. Tuition costs are much higher than that of Arizona State University, so that means I would have to compete for the scholarships offered there with other top students in the nation. But if I do make it in, I know I will be receiving some of the best education for my career as a software developer. Caltech is located right next to my state of Arizona, so I do not have to move very far away from home.
