The Utah State Office of Rehabilitation (USOR) assists eligible people with disabilities to prepare for employment and increase their independence. The USOR Division of Rehabilitation services, the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) program exists to assist eligible individuals with a disability to achieve and maintain employment. Vocational Rehabilitation services include counseling and guidance, medical services and treatment, assistive technology, training and education, job placement and follow up services. The mission of USOR program is to help people with physical or mental disabilities find and keep meaningful employment. The clientele is from age 14 and up they go into high schools to the kids that are in special education to see if they receive services so when they graduate high they will prepare for preparation for college to help pay for books or tuition, or attain the skills, resources needed to compete in the interview process, get a job and keep a job. The responsibility of the USOR is to interview and evaluate the individual and confers with some medical professional personnel to determine the disability eligibility for services of vocational rehabilitation. They can’t have a personal or family relationship with the client but can have a non-professional relationship unless its beneficial to the client such as birthday parties, weddings but they can go to college graduation on professional client
