Alexander the Great was indeed great. During his lifetime, he conquered all of Greece, Egypt, Persia, and parts of India through the use of superior military strategies. He was very tolerant of foreign religious practices and even adopted customs from other religions. In addition, he also pardoned conquered people when they displayed emotions such as bravery and courage. Alexander was Great because he conquered all of Greece, Egypt, Persia, and parts of India. He was known as an intelligent military leader and was able to conquer these civilizations because of his superior military strategies. For example, at the battle of Issus Alexander was outnumbered two to one but was still able to defeat King Darius the third. King Darius the third underestimated Alexander because Alexander attacked during the monsoon season and was ignorant of the environmental conditions in India. However, Alexander was able to split his forces and attack Darius in three different locations at three different times which resulted in Darius’ defeat.
