As technology advances we are given the opportunity to have access to new ideas and concepts, and therefore discover new things and develop from them. One of the great things that technology has provided us with is in the educational field. With the advancing technology teachers are given new opportunities to engage with students and learn new ways to teach. Some of the benefits that technology has provided to teachers would be the use of iPads, laptops and educational websites. One useful educational website is BrainPop, which offers students many ways to learn a topic that could be complicated. For example a boys is expected and it is found normal for him to be disruptive and rough in class. Whereas for girls it would be found unusual for her to be disruptive. For girls it is expected for them to conform to the rules. Technology is very useful in the classrooms and it is something that is being more commonly used among schools. In a research it was found that when using a software called Wayang Outpost it showed that there was a growing gender difference when students transition from middle school into high school. (Arroyo et al., 2013) The Wayang Outpost software had different aspects to evaluate this gender difference. One of the ways this was done was by having a tutor initiated help and a student initiated help. In which the tutor initiated help automatically provided the student with help after they had answered a question wrong. This still allowed the student to reject or accept the help being provided. Whereas the student initiated help was designed to make the student seek for help by clicking on the help button. They made a great point when pointing out that the way that technology will be presented to the students depends on the teaching style of the instructor (Kirkwood & Price, 2013). This is something that all educators must take into account. The way that students learn has to do in the way that they teach.
