Laws of Life Essay A great hockey player once said, “You miss one hundred percent of the shots you don’t take.” This hockey player is named Wayne Gretzky. I want to be remembered as a great person; by the words, actions, and achievements I have done in my life. No one will ever remember me if I don’t live by this aphorism. If I don’t try to hit those shots I would never know if I could hit them. If you don’t try to do something new; how will you ever be someone in life? People will never know what is on the other side of that door if they don’t open it. Imagine a little kid in the 5th grade around the age of 10 years old. He is on a soccer team that has many middle-schoolers. The little kid is one of the only elementary kids on the team. All the older kids are a lot better than him. He is scared to do anything because he doesn’t want to make a fool of himself in front of the bigger kids. He spends the rest of the practice only doing minimal activities and not showing off his true potential. The kid’s father picks him up from the practice. With a moment of the door closing the father asks the troubled kid. What’s wrong? The little kid looks to his father and says he doesn’t feel comfortable with the older kids. It connects deeply in my past, present, and even connects to my future. It really pushes me to try those new opportunities. I want to be that star soccer player and hit all those shots. To make the best of every opportunity I can take. Also I want to accomplish my goals and to make new ones. Not all aphorism’s are long and complicated, but they all will touch your heart and connect to you, some more than others. You just need to find that perfect one and cherish it. You won’t regret it.
