We want to make sure we always have enough, that it's not too pricey, and most importantly, that it doesn't harm the environment. We're on the lookout for new ways to create energy that won't harm our planet – it's often called green energy. This kind of energy comes from things like the sun and the wind. It doesn't run out and it helps us save money while creating new jobs. But let's be real, it's not a piece of cake: Pros of Green Energy: There is far less pollution than traditional energy types like fossil fuels for example: more than 13 million deaths around the world each year are due to avoidable environmental causes, including air pollution. Renewable energy is far cheaper for Ex. While coal is at $102/MWh – on average, renewable energy costs in comparison are as follows: Wind power: $20/MWh. Solar power: $37/MWh. Hydropower: $85/MWh. -. Cons with Green Energy: Renewable energy is just not as efficient as traditional energy as we cannot control the positioning of the sun and the amount of wind that is blown through wind turbines. Space is also a big reason renewable energy is not as efficient as traditional energy, wind turbines for example need to be placed far from each other and cannot be cramped into a tiny space, making renewable energy far more expensive. Making clean energy that everyone can afford and that works all the time isn’t easy. We need smart plans to solve …show more content…
A Lot of Schools have implemented Renewable energy courses and are educating children about renewable energy and letting them research the complex topic. Working with companies will be challenging too, this is because the fossil fuel industry is a 4 trillion dollar industry worldwide but renewable energy is only a 900 billion dollar industry worldwide. ( Keep in mind this is worldwide and some countries care a lot more about renewable energy than the U.S. If we were only talking about it would be 330 billion dollars in the fossil fuel industry and 260 billion dollars). Another reason teaming up would be hard is that if the Government focuses more on renewable energy, the fossil fuel industry, which has many ties in various countries, will be
