Cons Of Sports For Students
Many American students’ dream is to get into a pro sports team on NFL, but they don’t know all of the problems that are in sports. Concussions are a huge problem in high school football.
As a result kids are put their games before homework, they think winning a basketball game is more important than a math test that they got a C+ on, because they did not get enough sleep the night before. If kids have a basketball game after school they will not focus in class because the only thing they have, their mind set on is winning their game after school. Kids grades can drop because they spend too much time on practice and games than in school.

For instance, research done by Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital states that “More than 3.5 million students that participate in organized sports get injuries per year.” A huge problem in organized sports is concussions, concussions can lead to brain damage, memory loss, dizziness,etc. Many kids also get broken bones from getting tackled in football or tripping in baseball. In some sports the school cannot provide good safety gear and the students can get hurt. On the other hand, sports can keep you very healthy and keep you a huge distance away from heart disease and other diseases. Playing sports can also make your overall health better, and if your health is better it’s likely that your emotions will feel better too, you will not be easily annoyed at someone. Students who play sports are more likely to get a scholarship to college with a sports team than a college with no sports team. It is very expensive to get into a great sports college, so if students get a scholarship their parents will not have to pay the original amount for the college. Playing a sport can also increase social skills and also make new friends, students would meet new people if they were on a travel basketball team they would meet all types of people around the area they live in
