Caesar is a Hero Why is Caesar's assationation still fascinating? Julius Caesar was a Rome dictator and part of the first triumvirate with Pompey and Crassus. He was a senator, consul and then governor in Gaul. He was a great leader with strong speaking skills and showed compassion to others. He strived to be a great leader but that was his downfall. He was suspected to be too power hungry, the people of Rome thought he wanted to be king and that event led to his assasination. The assasination of Caesar was not justified because of how much he did for Rome, he wanted to show that he was a good leader and how he loved the people of Rome. He rejected the crown in front of the people and showed them he did not want it. Julius Caesar helped a lot of people. Rinado says that he “sought to provide opportunities to the poor.” In Rome, the wealthy got more opportunities than the poor so he gave them a second chance at life. They received free land after being transported to new colonies, free of charge. Due to Caesar’s building projects he also provided more job opportunities.
