The Blame of Death “Your lives shall pay the forfeit of peace” (1,1,90). This was said by Prince at the very beginning of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet tragedy that ultimately foreshadowed the death the the 2 star crossed lovers. Romeo and Juliet is a classic tragedy that has been enjoyed by many since it was written. The play is about a pair of young, star crossed lovers who both tragically die at the end of the play because of a family feud that has been going on in their families for decades. The play takes the reader through a journey of ups and downs of the tangled plot of their young love. Lord Capulet, Friar Lawrence, and Price are all to blame for the the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because they all contributed to the tangled plot that ended their lives. Friar agreed to marry the star crossed lovers after saying “therefore love moderately. Long love doth so, too swift arrives as tardy as to slow.” (2,6,14-15). Friar basically told them to go slow, but then agreed to marry them after they've only known each other for a few hours and completely ignores his own advice. It could however be argued that Friar was just doing his job as a religious figure, but as an influential person in both teens lives, he should have had better judgement in the situation. Friar Lawrence also agrees to marry the teens because he thinks he can mend the family relationships. He says “to such opposed kings encamp them still, in man as well as herbs-grace and rude will. (2,3,25-26). This line shows that Friar thinks there is good and bad in everyone, and that he thinks he can fix it. He is convinced that if he marries these two teens
