history He was born on 15 of august 1953, john and his girlfriend borrowed about 45,000 dollar from their friends and family and opened a small natural foods shop called Safeway in Austin. After two years they merged with Clarksville Natural Grocery and open the first Whole Foods in Austin, began with 19 employees. Two years later in 1982, opened a bakery in the store. In 1986 Whole Foods jump to the first of it’s a lot of successful achievements by purchasing Bluebonnet Natural Foods in Dallas, Texas. After two years Whole Foods start to move out of Austin by purchasing a new Company in New Orleans.in 1989 while foods start to fly around USA by opening a new store Palo Alto, California. Whole foods start to expand day by day and in 1992 turn into a publicly traded company, exchange shares on the NASDAQ, and start to expand quickly, especially through acquisitions of: Massachusetts and Rhode Island in1992, Mrs. Gooch's Natural Foods Markets in 1993 and Fresh Fields Markets in 1995 and Bread of Life in 1997. In 1997, the company launched its first own label brand ( 365 Every Day Value ) and in 1998 acquired the Allegro Coffee Company . By September 1999, the company had in service 100 stores.
