In world the food industry is marked as great diversity and variety in terms of both presentation and flavor. For a country’s economic development an important role is played by the food industry of that country. One of the greatest food industries is Publix and I am so great full to be part of it. While working at Publix I discovered that how people and food are connected. This has been enhanced by the solicitation of new ideas into the system and incorporating internal suggestions from employees into policy and procedure creation. The effective strategy this company has employed is directly reflective of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. In this theory, it is stated that human beings are motivated by ever more abstract conceptions of ‘needs’. By providing the same basic ‘physiological’ needs as other employers but also adding higher motivational levels; such as esteem and self-actualization through promotions and employee recognition; and a sense of comradery a ‘belongingness need’ Chipotle has created a
The leadership, actions, and obligations of the many issues a company faces in today’s economic market vary in significance from the perspective of the people. Tom Morris brilliantly provides the existing correlation between personal ethics and business ethics in his book, If Aristotle Ran General motors (1997). Morris brilliantly uses the great philosophy of Aristotle along with his personal perspective and philosophy, to create an ethical-framework to be used for making decisions. The essentials to achieve personal fulfillment is by applying what is called the four basic human dimensions described as follow: 1. The Intellectual Dimension, this one focus on the Truth.
Food is a critical part to the environment that a community lives in, yet food is not always just. Food justice is an important part of environmental justice, and Robert Gottlieb studied how food impacts communities. Gottlieb explained how food justice has links to equity, empowerment, and social justice as well. This area of justice “addresses issues of health, globalization, worker rights and working conditions, disparities regarding access to environmental (or food) goods, land use and respect for the land, and ultimately, how our production, transportation, distribution and consumption systems are organized” (7). Food (in)justices and the other presented issues are all around in society today.

Of the Seven moral principles listed in Table 1-4, I believe Autonomy is in force at Whole Foods. Autonomy is the belief that all individuals are valuable and have the right to self-determination (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2013). This term best describes the overall goal and purpose of Whole Foods. Although I believe that there are several other moral principles on that could also be an applicable force at Whole Foods, I feel that Autonomy best describes the belief that all individuals are valuable parts of the company and our society as a whole. Whole Foods takes the time to invest in each individual as the company knows that the investment will ultimately be returned and multiplied not only to the enterprise and the company’s purpose but to individual
Hodgson created a table of seven moral principles such as common good, autonomy, honesty, the dignity of human life, common good, humaneness, fairness, and loyalty. Whole Foods Market uses several of these principles in their organization (Kreitner & Kinicki, 2013). The most prevalent of them all is loyalty; therefore this is shown in many accepts of the organization. The company believes if you provide loyalty to employee this will create a happy employee that is more inclined to produce a better quality of work. With building an open and fair structure, their employees are loyal with efficiency and high attributes of work.

However, it appears that this value misaligns because the employees feel that the company discourages remote work which would allow the workers to exercise some independence over how they manage their time and location. 4. Respect is a core value that aligns with the company’s values. The company mentions in their ethics statement that they want to treat their employees right. This shows that Alliah’s leadership wants to respect its
Abstract To succeed, companies like Wal-Mart must deal responsibly with employees, suppliers, customers, competitors, governments, and the general public. The two key concepts of this responsibility are ethics and social responsibility. If your company’s core business isn’t grounded in sound values, such as integrity, respect, trust, and fairness, you’ll be exposed to ethical decisions that could lead to fraudulent, discriminatory, even illegal activities. Ethics and social responsibility are the standards that govern action and decisions in the work environment. Therefore, ethics should not get in the way of success in sales.
Moral Philosophy Defined Moral philosophy can be defined as a set of principles, or rules, which people use to decide what is right or wrong. Going past what is viewed as lawful in the zone where the business works, working environment morals move correspondence between representatives, take into account regard to be reached out to every individual inside the association, and advance client connections that depend on genuineness and respectability. While there are center components that have a tendency to characterize a work-based code of morals, the particular articulations of these focal esteems shift starting with one corporate setting then onto the next. workplace is about prioritizing moral values for the workplace and ensuring behaviors are aligned with those values - it's values management. Liedka (1991) suggested that many managers find themselves forced to choose between preserving their relationship with the firm and following their own values. Tetlock (1992) showed that individuals confronted with complex problems view a justifiable decision as the most socially rational, demonstrating the power of perceived organizational norms. Beu and Buckley (2004) argued that organizations can affect the rules of the game in favour of ethical behaviour by implementing ethics programs. In this study two types of ethics programs are described, Codes of ethics and Values based organizations. In line with this paper, under Codes of ethics the employee is accountable for the organization.
