Who is to blame for the deaths of Romeo And Juliet? Explained in this essay will be three possible characters in the play to blame for the terrible fate of these two young lovers. The two houses, the Montagues and the Capulets. These two houses are fueled with hate for each other. Romeo is of one house the Montagues and Juliet of the other the Capulets.Romeo and Juliet end up meeting and falling in love. With them being in love they decide to get married. They do not tell their families. They end up killing themselves for each other. They had a plan but it all ended very badly. Who is to really blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet? In believing that they were in love. Lord Capulet, Friar Lawrence or even Romeo and Juliet themselves could be to blame. Lord Capulet forces Juliet into the marriage between her and Paris.Capulet states that he will and is giving his consent to Paris. Friar Lawrence first marries them and tells no one saying “In one respect I’ll thy assistant be; For this alliance may so happy prove, To turn your households’ rancour to pure love”.(Act 2,Scene 3)This meaning he wants to marry them because he thinks it will help with the families like each other. Right before Friar started the ceremony to marry Romeo and Juliet. Friar is speaking to Romeo and he says “ Violent delights have violent ends” (Act 2,Scene 6). This means that this marriage could possible end very badly. Then Later on he gives the idea to Juliet. His idea is to fake her own death in order to stay with Romeo and not marry Paris.
