East Jordan High School should consider incorporating a chess club into our school system for a variety of reasons. EJHS would benefit from having a chess club because, students grades would increase, Some students would get in less trouble, and it would make an environment where students could socialize and make new friends. Also bringing a chess club into our school might persuade other schools to get involved and possible create a new competition for our school to take place in, and in the long run chess club might potentially boost school pride.
Initially, East Jordan High School would benefit from having a chess club because students with low grades that participate in this club would try harder to increase their grades so they would not be ineligible. Another reason our school should have a chess club is because if grades were up, then students would be happier, then our school would potentially be a happier environment. If grades were brought up because of chess club then failure rates in core classes would decrease making for more graduates making our school better in the long run, this is why chess club seems like such a great idea.

alot of students in our school and others near us have problems with going out and meeting new people, but with something like chess club could potentially give them the oppurtunity at socializing that they may not of gotten during the school day. There are lots of students who suffer from depression and other problems similar to that and one of the best ways to help that is having friends and having a thing like chess club to go to would be a great place to make new
