I believe that I deserve this scholarship because I strive to put God at the forefront of my life every day. I do this by praying, helping those in need daily, working SEARCH, and especially attending youth group weekly. Youth Group has been such a big part of my life ever since I joined in 7th grade. When I began, it was simply because my older brother had done it; however, it was not long before it became a second home for me. I quickly began to get involved and one of the things I have enjoyed the most have been the mission trips. I have been on every mission trip available since I joined in 7th grade. This position helped me understand the importance of leadership and helped me develop leadership qualities that I will need throughout life. The most important position I have ever held in my life was as a crew member, table leader, and a Co-director in the SEARCH retreat. This retreat has been the most influential thing in my life and has truly allowed me to experience the transformative power of God’s love and to give that love to others. As a crew member I have learned the importance of humility, service, and prayer. As a table leader I had a front row seat to the power of discussing our faith. As the SEARCHers listened to the talks, these raw testaments of faith, I guided them through their faith journey and help them understand the conversion and love they were experiencing. These two positions were amazing and they have helped me develop into the person I am today; however, the most important position I have ever held is as a Co-director. The experience of leading a weekend and being able to watch all of the SEARCHers experience the retreat was truly beautiful. Although it was stressful and time-consuming, it was the most gratifying experience of my life and I would not
