Cyberbullying
Cyberbullying in the dictionary is the use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature. Cyberbullying is "increasingly recognized as a serious social concern and a legitimate security threat that affects a large number of young people in cyberspace," (Broll). Cyberbullying is not an acceptable thing that happens everyday especially in schools, there must be ways to stop the bullying like monitoring the websites the kids go on, finding the correct punishment to punish the cyberbully, and advocating that cyberbullying is wrong and not acceptable.
Monitoring the websites that children go on today could help prevent cyberbullying. It can help prevent it

Everyone needs to here the effects of cyberbullying. They need to hear about how wrong it is and what leads people to do themselves. Some people even take it to the extreme by not telling anyone and trying to harm themselves. In the article Digital Safety Smarts it is said that, "As the Internet is increasingly a part of all of our lives, it is important for children to gain awareness of their role in a larger digital society. This series promotes effective and responsible use of technology by discussing topics such as internet safety, smart Internet searches, reliable sources, cyberbullying, and many others," most teenagers may not be aware of the things they say and how it can affect people, which is why raising awareness, (Meade). Sometimes people will tell the school or their parents but the school or the parents can not doing anything to help the child that is being bullied because it is happening online or the parents might not agree with the other parents. This could make the kid feel helpless and want to harm themselves because they have not learned about hotlines or how they are never alone. Advocating is a very necessary thing to do especially to schools because that is where it can be the most effective and it gets out to more
