15 March 2018 Academic Eligibility is a privilege as long as the student is making progress towards a degree which are a minimum of a 2.0 grade point average. Academic Eligibility can be a problem due to athletes grades, some of the best athletes across the country in every sport had to forfeit their scholarship because they couldn't meet the academic requirements for them to get in or play. People all over the world have a lot of different opinions, so a lot of people think that an athlete shouldn't be required to meet the academic requirements in order for them to play. These are some of the requirements that you have to follow in order to participate in athletics. To become eligible for college sports whether it be Division 1, Division 2, Division 3, Junior College, or the NAIA you must have a cumulative grade point average of a 2.0 throughout your four years of high school. You must have certain test scores when you take the SAT or the SAT or both of them. Taking both will help you more, but the best part about those tests are, you can take them all four years of high school and for whichever score is your highest on each one, they'll take your highest score. In high school you must have a certain amount of credits which it's different in every state but you must have all your core classes which are Math, Science, History, and English completed with a passing grade or you won't be eligible to even get into any college, but the higher the grade the better because if your grades are good then you don't have to get that high of a score on your ACT or SAT. In those core classes the minimum grade point average you can have is a 2.0. If you have a 2.0 grade point average exactly then you must score a 1010 on the reading and the math part of the SAT. There is no division three scholarships, only division one, division two, junior college, and the NAIA only provide athletic scholarships. All athletic scholarships are not guaranteed for all four years of your college career. They only offer one year scholarship that can be renewable annually. They do that in case the athlete gets a career ending injury, so if that's the case they can give another scholarship to a new athlete that could help there program succeed. Some colleges don't provide you with your athletic scholarship anymore if you have a career ending injury. They strip it away from you and then the athlete would have to either go back home or continue to get an education and pay for his enrollment, books, room,
