Olympic Essay

The Olympics started at 776BC to 393AD, and took 1503 years to come back In 1896 in Greece. Baron Pierre de Coubertin founded the Olympic committee in 1894 which lead to the first modern Olympic games in 1896. He got the idea from the ancient Olympic games that were held in Olympia, Greece. The ancient games were created to honor Zeus every four years.

The benefits for hosting the Olympics is that it helps develop better transportation, it attracts many types of international visitors and businesses. This is because Both of these sports compete with the Olympics. For example, there are many people that watch football and not the Olympics so if it is added it will attract a whole new fan base. In the Article Why Isn’t American Football an Olympic Sport? It states, 'give it the opportunity to grow, it would also attract a massive audience of American football fans to the Summer Olympics who wouldn’t otherwise have watched them. Estimates vary, but well over 120 million people watched Super Bowl 50 between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers – not an audience that should be overlooked. With these seven other countries it will allow the players to compete with other counties and find out who is the best. An example is in Japan because they have twelve teams. For example, in Teams and Leagues it states, '' Japan’s most popular ball club, the Tokyo Yomiuri Giants, often attracts large crowds. The Giants won nine straight Japan Series championships between1965-1973 as Japan was becoming an economic super power, so many fans consider a Yomiuri championship a symbol of financial success. The Giants play most of their home games at Tokyo Dome which seats more than 45,000 and is located in Central Tokyo. The team is owned by a media company with a variety of television and radio stations, along with newspapers.'' This shows that baseball is around the world and is very popular. Finally, to my last point that it would be a new Olympic tradition that I know my that my family would have if they added the Baseball and football to the
