“SPIT THAT GUM OUT RIGHT NOW OR YOU'LL GET A LUNCH DETENTION!” Yep! Most of us remember that. Whenever we are chewing gum, a teacher will always tell a student to get rid of their gum, and we don't have a choice, but to obey. In school when teachers catch a student chewing gum, they usually tell the student to spit the gum out. On another hand, some teachers don't even tell you, instead they give you a minor infraction. Many people believe that gum should be banned in school because many students smack on it and it gets really irritating. Also, when students finish chewing their gum, they tend to stick the gum under a desk. Gum is actually not that bad, it helps you concentrate, relax, and shed some weight. Today many people see the disadvantages of gum, they never see how many advantages about gum. According to the article “Why Chewing Gum Should Be Allowed at School,” it states, “Gum should be allowed at school because it has been proven to help kids focus and become better students, chewing gum helps your memory improve and it also helps you focus while you’re studying. Chewing gum engages the jaw; its muscle activation against resistance, which aids with this, much like people finding exercise helpful in helping them to focus. It supports awareness and the ability to learn." This validates the parent’s no need to worry about Gum doesn’t harm your child, but do goods to your child, and help every student to become a better student. So every parents out there, please do not concern your child’s safety, because as a principle, we watch your child’s safety best we
