Tyler Wong Professor Saluppo HIST 1000 4/19/24 The nature and conduct of war on the Western Front. Starting in 1914, the Western Front of World War I is a testament to warfare's brutal and relentless nature, characterized by trench warfare and technological advancements that revolutionized combat. Soldiers endured unimaginable hardships in the trenches, facing constant danger from enemy attacks, diseases, and a psychological toll. Despite the introduction of new weapons and tactics, neither the Allied nor Central Powers gained a decisive advantage, resulting in a prolonged period of stalemate and attrition.
Growing up healthy eating is encouraged for many people. Some debate that schools should encourage healthy eating as well. However others believe that it is not a schools choice about what children eat. Schools should not have whole wheat lunches because children should be able to make the decisions of what they eat by themselves. Whole wheat lunches cost too much for schools.
When the school had change the cafeteria menu to a healthier menu I was mad because the healthier food taste nasty ,and I barley ate which mean I was getting dizzy at practice because I didn't eat a lot in school. Schools shouldn't change the cafeteria menu because kids will bring their own lunch to school instead of buying it, some kids will protest on the change of the school menu, they will be very cranky if they don't eat and might pass out. The fist reason why schools shouldn't change the cafeteria menu is because kids will start bringing their own lunch to school. If the kids start bringing their own lunch, the school will have less money to do stuff.
For these reasons school lunches need to be changed so that children are getting healthier, more local, and organic foods into their diet and so that the students besides getting healthier foods are getting the necessary amount of food for their individual needs so that they can do better in school and on tests. Organic and locally grown food is healthier and better for the students developing bodies and although schools gain a big portion of their funds from selling junk food it is better for the kids overall. These foods also help kids be more full through the day which can help them focus in class and improve test scores. Schools and parents need to take action and play a bigger role in what children are eating during lunch, whether it is
Some people may argue that school lunches are not healthy enough and need to be changed to foods that are more nutritious.
Another reason I feel it is smart to change school lunches is that we need healthier foods in our cafeterias. We have some healthy foods such as salads and fruits. Schools need to serve less of the junky foods like pizza and fried chicken, and burgers; and in turn should cook foods like fresh pastas, or even change the techniques of preparing foods like instead of frying, bake. Even changing the salads up would be a fantastic idea.
Because students waste to many foods at school at day. 60 percent of fresh vegetables and 40 percent of fresh fruit are being thrown away. By reducing the amount of food wasted and increasing the amount of food wasted and increasing the amount consumed of the courses the beneficial outcome would be improve nutritional intake. When kids are asked how well they like school lunch not surprisingly, American kids, whether pressed for time or just grossed out, leave not much of their meals untouched particularly neglected are fruits and vegetables which they are now forced to put on their trays before they can exit the cafeteria line. The, waste lots of money on food for their schools.
This is because the food is not to their standards, so students are not going to eat it. ProQuest said “The most nutritious meals are the ones students actually eat.” To add on to this, they say that the schools don't have the food up to the standards they need to have. For example, 1 out of 5 students are going to be obese. This is stated because the school's food is not healthy for students.
In conclusion schools should not change the lunches because they don't have the power to tell students can or can't eat, they don't have the time and money, and finally because they are not allowed to put a limit on how much a student can eat due to the “No Kid Hungry
“Healthy school lunch means students are getting the nourishment they need to power their minds and bodies to learn. ”-Unknown. This quote is relevant because students need good, healthy food to be able to focus in class. When the students have eaten a good healthy food they won’t be worrying about when they’re going to get their next meal. The food needs to actually look edible for kids to even think about eating it.
Look back at what you ate at school and ask yourself if it is healthy. Is there healthy alternatives to school lunch? Is there a variety of choices to choose from? Are there any vegetarian choices for the students? These are just some of the basic questions you would ask yourself when thinking about the risks of school lunches.
Changing the options offered could result in lowering childhood obesity, making healthy foods available to students who might not have those options available to them at home, and teaching students to make better nutritional choices in what they choose to eat, as well as controlling portions and restricting calories. However, many argue that the students are not happy with the changes, will not become healthier based on one meal throughout their day, and could result in a major eating disorder like binge eating disorder
As the CDC says “Consuming more energy from foods and beverages than the body uses for healthy functioning, growth, and physical activity can lead to extra weight gain over time” (health & human services). So that is why junk food is bad and we should not have it during lunch. Schools should ban selling junk food, By banning schools from selling junk food so kids would have to choose something healthy. “schools can still sell brownies and cupcakes at bake sales and sporting events, snacks sold during school hours cannot exceed 200 calories and must be either chock full of
All of the children that live in America are entitled to a free public education. A lunch is provided that costs a reduced fee for those who attend a public school. Everyday thousands of kids go to school and mindlessly eat this lunch. A lunch that is filled with frozen, processed foods that all share the same unpronounceable chemicals in their ingredient list. I personally believe that if schools started to add more natural, fresh, whole foods into their lunches it would be helpful to our societies growing obesity epidemic.
Imagine a school that has multiple healthy school food options, that is worth standing in line for. I think that all schools should have a healthy school lunch. It's very important to have nutritious school lunches so that we can be healthy and have energy during the school day. I think we should have better and healthier school menus. Our school menus are very high in cholesterol and saturated fat.
