Why The President Is The Head Of The Executive Branch

“The president is the head of the Executive Branch. The framers clearly treated the executive as a secondary branch.” (Cavalli, 2013, p.175). It makes sense to place them after the legislative branch that actually has the power to make laws. The executive branch is there to execute those laws. Essentially it was supposed to be this way, but presidency’s power is much greater. I do not think the president should be considered the most powerful person in world or in the nation for that matter. I guess the Framers did not foresee presidency to be as powerful as it is; yet I do not believe they would change it. Presidents play two major roles.
