Drug testing at school should only be voluntary. Drug testing for the whole school is not a privilege for the school to do, yet an Ohio school, Chillicothe High School has proposed that they should drug test all of their students. Drug testing should not be forced upon the students in high school. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) released a policy statement in 2015, saying it opposes randomly drug testing students because there’s not enough evidence to show it’s effective, and because random testing can damage relationships between students and their schools. “It’s also a possible infringement on privacy”, the group says. Somatic means relating to the body, and when adding rights to the end it becomes someone's right to their body. No one should be forcing anyone to do a drug test, people in schools who get drug tested are usually athletes and they already know beforehand that they will be doing said testing. Not only is it going against many minors rights, many health organizations declare this wrong. When health organizations declare that the drug testing of a minor is wrong, why would the schools still want to drug test said minor?
