William Shakespeare, a well known English poet, is a world famous playwright, actor, and writer. Everyone knows Shakespeare’s poems, plays, and other famous writings, but his early life is a mystery to many. What is known about the early life of William Shakespeare is limited because information can only be found in church records, bills, and court documents, but through his writings in his adult life, he became a household name. In Shakespeare’s time, at a young age, children were taught to take on the adult world as soon as possible and women were already often pregnant before marriage. It was almost a bind to marry that woman (“Shakespeare’s Early Childhood”). Shakespeare got married when he was eighteen years old. He married Anne Hathaway when she was 26 years old and three months pregnant with his child. Shakespeare's first child's name was Susanna who was born six months after their wedding (“Shakespeare Facts: Read Facts About William Shakespeare”). Shakespeare was married on November 28, 1582 by the Bishop of Worcester. Anne Hathaway was the daughter of a local farmer. Shakespeare left London and moved back to Stratford,where his wife and daughter lived, sometime around 1610-1630. By then, Shakespeare was a rich, wealthy, and well-known man. Shakespeare fell sick with some kind of illness around the spring of 1616 (“William Shakespeare”).
