In “The Fire Next Time,” James Baldwin describes the racial injustice he has observed and experienced in America. By the mid-14th century, at the time of Geoffrey Chaucer, The Hundred Years’ War was promoting nationalism in England and creating an even bigger divide between English and French. England did not want to be speaking the same language as her enemy.

Shakespeare’s date of birth is not recorded but it is recorded that he was baptized on April 26, 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon which is a small town 100 miles away from London. He was born to John and Mary Shakespeare. Mary and John had eight children including Shakespeare.
