Women Situation: Honduras and Pakistan “A state that does not educate and train women is like a man who only trains his right arm.” (Jostein Gaarder, Sophie's World 1991). Women are equally important to men, something people often forget. Women are not important just for the fact that they give birth to human life, that should be enough but women are capable to accomplish equal tasks as men. And that makes them not less nor more from men but equal. Women have been fighting for equality for centuries now but women are still not equal to men. Specially in countries like Honduras and Pakistan that even though this countries are in a different continent we will be able to compare and contrast their situation. Women in Honduras suffer from injuring, domestic violence, sexual violence and even homicide. In 2013 there where 636 murdered, that means a woman each 13.8 hours. Around 70% of this homicides are used firearms the same percentage are men who kill women. For the last 6 years 93.5% of the cases have not being solve this means that 2,500 women had not have any justice. By the high percentage we can see the lack of interest that even the own police give to this situation. Since they do not collect enough evidence to build a case.Last year, 2014 a tragedy occurred opening eyes worldwide when Miss.Honduras was killed with her sister by her boyfriend. Showing not how violent this country is but how women are killed for the simple fact they are women. The problem is that women in this country are seen more as housekeepers there are very few the ones that gave an actual job , they are normally maintain by their husbands. In 2013 we saw that women where payed 27% less than men, that is absolutely ridiculous but it is true. Women inequality is the effect of Honduras violence and poverty. Poverty essentially since they are robbed, or killed by gang members. Also in a poor families that usually live in rural areas girls don't usually go to school but stay at home helping their moms with their work. Only 16% of the girls in rural areas finish their high school
