Briley Rogers English 101 9/20/17 Popular Realistic Fiction Book Report The book “Wonder”, by R.J. Palacio is one of the best things I have read in a very long time. August has funny and loving family. They are known by everyone. For August to figure out his place on this earth, he has to interact with it and be social. At some points he is pushed to go out of his comfort zone to achieve that goal through each and every struggle and victory his family is always there by his side. There were a couple new words I learned in this book. The first of the words that are new to me is “quip”, which is defined as a witty remark. The second word is “inkling”, which is defined as a slight suggestion or vague understanding. The third word is “stringent”, which is defined as demanding strict attention to rules and procedures. The fourth word is “flit”, which is defined as to move along rapidly and lightly; skim or dart. The fifth word is “incantation”, which is defined as a ritual reciting of words believed to have a magical effect. This book was honestly one of the best things I have read. It focus’ on real issues with today’s world through a story, that has a little bit of something for everyone. This story truly shows that what’s inside truly counts more than the outside. It also shows the sad reality of people judging a book by its cover. It’s just an all-around great
