Most of us are working to build our lives without any actual planning or thoughts. To succeed at anything in life, there must be idea and direction to get there. Having a purpose in life is the most important thing for me. Choosing the right path in life always keeps me engaged in hard work and keeps me busy so I don't lose my drive and direction. By moving to the United States five years from Nepal work study and understanding American culture is still challenging for me. With a purpose I have goals to achieve and motivation to finish school. They came to the United States as a permanent resident visa. Its hard to be separated from the love ones. When I came to the United States in 2010 starting a new life in the new place was difficult and still is. When I moved here with different language communication is difficult, but it is necessary. An accent draws attention;others teased me and developed stereotypes without even knowing me. Cultural shock is really hard for me. Growing up I have noticed distinctive differences between how I have been raised and others. For example, swearing; I noticed my other friends and their parents would do it, but my mother never allowed us to, and still does not. Sometimes the culture and the value difference were a good thing, but other time I wanted to be like my friends and did without having my parents think it was such a bad thing. Sometimes I found it embarrassing speaking Nepali in a room of only English speakers because I worried what others would say and think.
