I believe that in order to be a good writer, I need to write as much as I can. In my english class, I have written quite a lot, and I have become a better writer. I still have to learn and practice more. There are a few things that my classmates, professor and I agreed on : which are my strongest and weakest on writing. I am really good at citing because I cited correctly in all my papers. However, I need to do better on my thesis because I did not back up my thesis. First, I learned how to cite correctly in MLA format from a web called Owl English Purdue. In order to use direct quotation you need to use two quotation marks on the beginning and the last of the sentence, and fellow by author’s name in parentheses. For example: a few of my classmates said “Good use of citing the quotes you found” (Cole) , “Your citation are well done and in alphabetical order.”(Lizbeth). Thesis statement is the main idea of the paper and explaining it to the reader. The thesis statement is like a seed. The good thesis statement will grow the best tree. I did not know thesis statements should be an argument not a fact. I need to look future on argumentative.I need to think something unique to me, and something that I am proving, and making connection that nobody have.
