World War II DBQ World War II was one of the most devastating and disastrous time periods in the world. World War II spanned from the years 1939-1945 and approximately 60,000,000 people were killed. (OI) During the war, the Japanese, allied with the Axis Powers, attacked an American harbor in Hawaii.
The Battle of Stalingrad started on July 17th, 1942 and ended on February 2nd, 1943, and was the successful Soviet defense of the city Stalingrad, and was one of the bloodiest battles in history with combined military and civilian casualties of nearly 2 million. The Bombing of Pearl Harbor was on December 7th, 1941 when hundreds of Japanese fighter planes attacked the U.S naval base at Pearl Harbor near Honolulu, Hawaii, and immediately after the attack the United States declared war on Japan, and in return Germany and Italy declared war on the United States. Freakonomics is a book written by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner which was published after they met each other in an interview for New York Times. After the article was published, the two went on to have an unanticipated partnership. Freakonomics, a book of problems and answers with no unifying theme, is supposed to make you look at a situation a different way. One of the problems in the book included the monumental drop in crime across America in the 1980’s when it was expected to rise significantly. Levitt came across this problem by first looking at the accepted reasons for the sudden drop such as more police, stronger capital punishment, changes in the crack market, and the aging of the population.
The creation of the atomic bomb in 1945 marked the beginning of a new era. As Japan was surrounded by U.S. forces, the U.S. issued the Potsdam Declaration, defining terms for Japanese surrender. However, Japan did not surrender. Thus, U.S. dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima, killing many civilians. Three days later, the second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, ultimately leading to a Japanese surrender, essentially ending World War II.

In addition, the first battle of ww2 happened in Europe, and the fires of war was spread out by Europe for some Asia countries.

It cost more money, damaged more property, killed more people, and caused more far-reaching changes than any other war in history. World War II introduced the most dangerous weapon in the world, the atomic bomb. When the US used it on Japan we went to far and caused unnecessary damage to the people. Many people believe this to the only truth but, the real truth is that dropping the atomic bomb was a necessary evil we had to use in order to win the war in World War II and future wars to come. It save many american soldiers lives, stopped the Soviets from joining, and helped us win against Japan. First and foremost, World War II caused many casualties for both sides of the war.

There were concentration camps run by the Germans and there were essentially two wars raging. The two wars were the war in Europe and the war in the Pacific, which was Japan against the United States. World War II went on for six years and would destroy more land and property around the world and kill more people than any other war before.
In conclusion of this war, World War 2 was the most destructive war in world history. Technologies in weapons, transportation, communications and medical developed at a faster rate than the military strategies and planning. Nationalism was certainly a part of this, particularly by the Germans and Japanese, but also affecting the Soviet and the American actions. Because of the development of technologies, the death toll of world war 2 was 4 times more than world war 1. With an unsettling number of 63 million people.

Some countries fight to reach independence, some do it to expand its power and control over other countries and some others just fight because their inhabitants cannot reach an agreement peacefully as regards political, economic or ideological issues. Two of the most brutal wars in the world were World War I and World War II which occurred from 1914 to 1918 and 1939 to 1945 respectively. The First World War (or WWI) and the Second World war(or WWII) were two of the largest military conflicts in human history that were marked by involvement of the prevailing world powers of the day. They were two major armed conflicts as both of them involved military alliances between different groups of countries.
