In the “Your Personal Development Needs” of the Focus2 assessment, my strongest areas were teamwork, sociability, public speaking, leadership, communications, and more. I concur with my results because I enjoy being in charge of a group and interacting with people I know, along with strangers I meet throughout the day. In high school, I was president of two clubs where I had to use my leadership and communication skills in different meetings and projects. Personally, I love giving presentations even though I still get butterflies in my stomach and I enjoy being the center of attention.

My weakest qualities are writing and time management, which can use some improvement. Writing has always been a hard subject for me because I tend to worry and overthink what I state. My biggest worry is if it sounds smart and is college material. I often tend to have writers block because I feel like some of my ideas aren’t good enough or I focus on writing a perfect paper that my ideas disappear. Another one of my weakest is time management. Being in the dorms makes it hard for me to concentrate on my work and actually getting stuff done. It’s hard to say no to the distractions my friends provide. Telling myself that I will get a reward if I get my schoolwork done will help me a lot. Also having discipline will also help in my desire to get stuff done and leave the fun for later when I’m finished with my priorities. It will result in me having better time management skills for the future, better grades, less stress, and more sleep. When writing, I can motivate myself by going to writing workshops or tutoring. Having others help me formulate my ideas and organize them will help me express myself better.
