Toothpaste Why do people have a particular toothpaste they prefer? When people probably do not even know what is in their toothpaste that helps his or her teeth. Everyone needs different toothpaste for his or her teeth it just depends on the person. If someone has sensitive teeth he or she would get a toothpaste to make his or her teeth stronger. Same as Colgate it could have a positive or negative effect depending on what people want. Everyone is going to have his or her own opinions. Colgate and Aqua-fresh are similar and different in Ethos, Logos, and Pathos. “Ethos” refers to the writer’s “ethics,” so one way the reader would do that is by wondering if the two ads are trustworthy. The Colgate ad seems trustworthy because someone had to hold a study to show that Colgate toothpaste fights germs for 12 hours, starts to fortify enamel for 24 hours, and helps improve gum health for 4 weeks. The Aqua-fresh ad appeals to emotion because it is trying to show that the lady is excited about the triple protection.
