As I begin my professional career, I want to pursue a position in which I can work in the two areas I am most passionate about: water and public service. In this regard, I am interested working with programs and projects driven towards improving and maintaining the quality of the Great Lakes. I have prepared to make meaningful impacts on such projects through my education, service work, and research experiences in water resources and environmental engineering at the University of Minnesota – Duluth and Villanova University. Working on a variety of water systems, from natural water to engineered water systems, in different communities, has provided me with unique insights and experiences on water and public service. These diverse perspectives, coupled with my background, make me a great fit for the John A. Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship Program.
I want to be a part of Enactus SFU because I want to create a foundation for me to build on throughout my post-secondary career. I find Enactus as a great opportunity for me to grow my roots and learn. Also, the fact that I've only been in SFU for one month and have known plenty of great individuals in Enactus urged me to apply for the club. I aspire to be apart of Enactus. As a first year SFU student, I am willing to put in the hours to set a solid base for my skills to grow on, create connections, and branch out of my comfort zone.
I have completed the OUPV/6Pack course which has given me additional knowledge of the charter Boat industry. On a personal note, I have a passion for interacting with and educating the commercial maritime
Immanuel Kant - "Look closely. The beautiful may be small". Growing up, I never really had a lot of what people my age would have because of my family's financial struggle. Despite this, I feel like it has taught me to appreciate the little things in our life since one day, they will most likely disappear. When we did have money to spare, my parents made sure that I and my sister were happy and because of this, I discovered that I enjoyed playing video games.
Creativity is another important part of productive work because you can always find a way to be creative in your work. Creativity was taught to me in my public speaking class through unique topics we were assigned to speak on. In class we were encouraged to look at the topics in a creative light and figure out another side that may not have been seen before. Listening and seeing peoples different ideas on topics lead us to learn about another LLO, critical thinking. Critical thinking is, “the process of reflection on the reasoning used by the individual to explain a situation while also being used to examine and explore statements, problems, issues, beliefs and social constraints related to that issue” (Ucwv.edu, LLO. 2018).
A child 's face fills with excitement as they enter a huge building that largely proclaims a sign that says ´SeaWorld. ´ The thrill of seeing animals that they don 't normally see fills the child to the brim. Their elated feelings rise as they walk into the Shamu Stadium, with an announcer welcoming them. They 're so happy that they don 't realize that they 're about to witness inhumane acts for entertainment. Sea World is an inhumane facility, and needs to be shut down.
SeaWorld has been in the spotlight for several years now. Whether it is negative or positive publicity, someone is talking about SeaWorld; from the new animal births at their facility, killer whales attacking their trainer and the sudden unexplainable deaths of many of their animals. In 2013 the documentary “Blackfish” explained how SeaWorld’s animals and staff are really treated. Since the release of Blackfish, SeaWorld’s image and attendance has gone down the drain. SeaWorld San Diego’s attendance is down 12% and SeaWorld Orlando is down 8% (Weisberg, 2015).

In the short story, The Cat in the Hat, and the article, "Why Nurturing Creativity in Kids is so Important" they both show how creativity is used and how it can impact your life in a positive way. Creativity is important to always use because it can help you to have a more exciting
Ocean V. Space Exploration The ocean covers more than 70% of the Earth, yet we’ve explored only around 5% of it. This means there is so much more to explore in the ocean. The one reason we haven’t explored as much of the ocean is because of space. Space is wildly more popular, and has proven its worth with many advancements.
The ocean… The sound of the waves applauding and hugging the shore. The internal sounds of the body out in the world’s biggest swimming pool. The echo of my sister’s laughter. The salty smell so strong that one can taste it dancing on ones taste buds.
I would even write and illustrate my own books and would read it to the class. My interest in drawing has increase because it helps me with stress, makes people smile and I can control my anger. When I find myself stressed out, I can decrease that by taking at least 30 minutes out my day just to draw. It also clears my mind, drawing can be everything to some like me. Especially if you believe in the horoscope, it says that Virgo are good at drawing, I am a Virgo, so I believe in that.
Some people think that creativity is only involved in musicians, artists, singers, actresses, etc, its not like that. Creativity its an art, its really an art, even sometimes we don 't noticed it.
