Jenna—The Writer After completing AP Language and AP LIterature, I have not only grown as a writer but also learned things about myself that make me unique from others. I made friends with people who I never used to talk to and discovered how to motivate myself. I have also learned how to work in a team and as a class. Our AP English class was all in it together and I wouldn’t have wanted to experience it any other way. I have learned how to work under pressure and pay attention to details as well. I gained confidence and began to believe in myself and what I was capable of. Before my two years of AP English, I never would have pictured myself reaching the points that I was able to throughout my two years. I never knew how to get better at it. Through being in AP the past two years, I began my journey to learning how to write. Through the papers we did, I discovered how to organize literary and poetic writing. Before this year, I had no idea how to write poetry but by the end, I discovered I actually enjoyed it. It excited me to write about topics that I wanted to, especially in a way that was artistic. Thinking about my capabilities before I joined AP, I never thought I would be able to improve this substantially. One of my favorite parts of the writings we did was being able to express myself in a way other than speaking. Through writing the poems, I discovered that I liked to talk about the things I enjoy about my life. It was the most fun to write about past memories and relive exciting events in my life. My favorite type of writing became the poetry because it taught me about myself and my classmates through the most recent presentations. It was fun to challenge myself and see what I decided to write about in my poems. I hope to improve my poetry writing skills in the
