The American Conservative Union (ACU) fights for conservative values and rates politicians based on those values. Lastly, the Council of Better Business Bureaus (CBBB) strives for honesty in the business world while protecting customers. American Nurse Today, the American Nurses Association’s official periodical, and OJIN: The Online Journal of Issues in Nursing, are professional tools offered to paid members to expand their research on nursing topics. Along with the materials to advance a nursing career, solidary benefits such as conferences are held to help nurses network and create friendships in the association. According to Special Interest Group Profiles for Students (2001), the ACU supports capitalism and constitutionalism. It parents many other conservative groups to foster the same values in others. The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), the American Conservative Union Foundation, and the Family Prosperity Initiative (FPI) all fall under the umbrella of this interest group. To summarize, the ACU furthers the principles of conservatism. The American Conservative Union provides solidary benefits such as holding the Conservative Political Action Conference for like-minded people to come together and discuss their shared beliefs. This is somewhat similar to the American Nurses Association conference, but the ACU does not have a membership program. This group been rating congressmen and state legislators on a 100-point scale since the early 1970s and continues to this day. This program provides their audience with a conservative perspective on their elected representatives.
