Purpose
To better understand my history about college courses, and other experience with writing. To learn how much I know about MLA and APA rules, and my weaknesses in writing. Know what my motivation for taking this course is. To gain knowledge on my comfort level when using technology and computers, and what my current and future goal is for a career. To know my definition of “plagiarism” and “academic integrity”.
Past Experience with College Writing Courses and Other Writing Experiences
Last semester I took College Writing on campus, the class was light and easy. There wasn’t very much homework, and although I didn’t understand the readings, I did well on the essays. I know most of the rules: Times New Roman, Double Space, and 12 pt. font, and how to format your name. Some of my weaknesses in writing are that I am not great at using high level vocabulary, and coming up with things to write about.
Motivation for Taking This Course
My motivation is that I will be able to learn more about writing in other settings, not just essays for school. I can learn how to write for work purposes and what people expect when reading my documents. I also know that taking this course will get me one more step closer to completing my AA degree.
Comfort Level When Using Technology/Computers and Current/Future Career Goals
I am comfortable using computers and know how to find my way around. If I am not familiar with the technology, I can easily figure it out and find my way around. I am currently trying to complete my AA degree by the time I graduate. I am planning on going to school for either a Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
How I Define “Plagiarism” and “Academic
