In today’s media, there are a conglomerate of television and internet programming that shows dramatizations and actual accounts of prison life and how inmates interact with one another. Television shows like Orange is the New Black and Oz have garnered much popularity due to each being able to closely “replicate” the setting (bedding, cells, confinement), and overall prison culture. Despite the popularity, the shows remain just as such, entertainment. The media will not be able truly capture the complex organization of the actual prison system, including the management, communication methodologies, the administration, etc. Another similarity between the shows is that the shows’ settings are that of federal maximum security prisons; what about

Humana Inc. Introduction Humana began as a nursing home called Extendicare, which was founded by two lawyers from Louisville, Kentucky named David A. Jones Sr. and Wendell Cherry in 1961. Extendicare’s expansion was swift in the first seven years due to the sale of stocks; the pair added new services to their patient care plan and opened forty new facilities, making it the leading nursing home organization in the country (“History of Humana Inc.-Funding Universe,” n.d.). The value of the STEM system (science, technology, engineering, and math) is steering the education world in a new and positive direction, although some may believe otherwise. In Lloyd Bentsen’s article, “the United States educational system will continue to fail our children,” he talks about how he disagrees with Zakaria, another writer stating his views on the STEM system. Bentsen believes the STEM system will benefit America. In Scott Gerber’s article, “How Liberal Arts Colleges Are Failing America,” he talks about how people can correlate their majors into entrepreneurship. Lastly, in Fareed Zakaria’s article, “Why America’s obsession with STEM education is dangerous,” he shares his belief that our obsession with STEM is just a way to overlook
This paper explores three health organization services that include: Washington Hospital Healthcare System (WHHS) - Fremont, Kaiser Permanente - Fremont, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital and will discuss the description and services that the HSO provides, their mission statement, and description of the HSO management. I chose these hospitals because I have volunteered at WHHS, am a member of Kaiser Permanente, and will one day like to work as a Registered Nurse in Pediatric care. Washington Hospital Healthcare System or Washington Township Care District, is a not-for-profit hospital that was created in 1948 to provide people living in Southern Alameda County such as Fremont, Newark, and Union City with access to a broad range of high quality
The mission statement of any healthcare organization must relay the true purpose. Hofstrand (2009) suggested that a statement of mission is a universal announcement of how your vision will be achieved. The vision and the mission are directly connected. Both need to be simple and easy to appreciate and remember. The focus of the company would be on all the patients and the mission statement would look something like that: “New Mexico Essential Healthcare is a non-profit organization that operates throughout the state.
Envision a Mission for an Athletic Department At its core any program, including an athletic department, must have a set of core values and a mission statement, for which they can fall back on and follow. In addition to this mission, the department needs employees with a proper skill set and attitude to help move the company in the right direction, in accordance with the departments vision. A mission statement sets the tone and direction for a company, program or department. In addition, an institution is only as strong as their employees working towards that vision.
I have a 2.65 GPA currently before I transferred to SGU I had a 3.0 GPA. I believe moving off campus will help me promote the mission because it will help me focus on what matters the most to me which is my academics, communal, and spiritual growth as a Christian. Before I came to SGU I had great grades, doing things for the community, and being able to be with my local church. I wasn't living on campus while at my last school so I could focus more on my school and God. I will explain why this is important to me and for my life to live off campus.
A mission statement is a defining piece of identity for an organization. It shows what an organization stands for, what is at stake and reflects who is invested in the organization. Mission statements serve just as great of a purpose to the community as they do to the organization. It is an organization’s promise to the community and a way to hold themselves accountable within their organization. This paper will discuss possible mission statements, departments necessary as well as positions and job descriptions, an organization reporting chart and discuss outsourced functions.
What I learned about mission is simply focusing on the firm’s purpose and its present business. To create a clear and successful mission, it should be getting answers on these types of questions: Who we are, what we do, and why we are here (Thompson, 2014). The Best Buy website stated their mission, "Our formula is simple: we are a growth company focused on better solving the unmet needs of our customers and we rely on our employees to solve those puzzles. Thanks for stopping.
I. Mission Statement with Goals When I entered the University of Arizona my main objective was to take advantage of all the learning opportunities offered during lectures and labs. Here I have had the opportunity to take interesting and challenging courses. My ultimate academic goal is to graduate as prepared as possible in order to put all my knowledge to use in my future career. My career goal is to form part of a public or private agency that helps regulate or monitor the conditions of the environment. I want to be part of an organization that helps remediate all the damage caused by the increasing contamination in the world.
Mission statements are typically future focused and are not essentially constructed on present-day. They should be a reasonable viewpoint from which to look down the road. These statements should not bound the development of the organization’s premises through incorrect
It relates to the purpose of the company and what they want to achieve in the future. The mission goes beyond the vision as it explains the company’s goals and objectives more clearly. It also mentions how this will be accomplished. The last step is to create a strategy based on the defined vision and mission. (Miller, 2014) Tesla’s mission is ‘to accelerate the advent of sustainable transport by bringing compelling mass market electric cars to market as soon as possible’.
