Something new is rising and it is called NIL Deals. It means that student-athletes can be paid off for their Name, Image, and likeness. College athletes should be allowed to be paid NIL. In the story “Paying College Athletes Top 3 Pros” by Britannica talks about injuries and it says “In 2017 67% of former Division 1 athletes had sustained a major injury and 50% had chronic injuries” A majority of the players are getting injured, and this will affect them later in life so they should be able to be compensated for this. In the story, it talks about insurance and it says “the NCAA requires players to have health insurance but does not pay for that insurance and can refuse to pay medical expenses for sports injuries some of which can have life–long consequences for the players bodie and career opportunities” if the NCAA doesn't want to pay for things like health insurance but requires it and it doesn’t want to pay for medicine then it should allow the players to get paid so that they can have the money to do this.
