With the general increase of interest of Division I college sports among Americans in the last quarter century. This has resulted in increased profit for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Therefore the question arises of should college athletes be reimbursed for the “work” they do for the school. If you watch the level of play the college students and the professionals play at, it is not much different from each other. At the same time, the NCAA prohibits college athletes to be monetarily compensated for their effort, which is definitely unfair. College athletes should be paid their proper due for a number of reasons.
They have to perform day in and day out to meet both academic standards and to upkeep their game.
