Anne Frank Anne is mostly known for her diary that she wrote while she was hiding from the Nazis and being a Holocaust victim. She was, sadly, one of the millions of kids that died during the Holocaust. Her diary was read by millions and that diary gave her an “after-life.”Anne was given the diary by her father, Otto Frank, while she was in the annex. She wrote in the diary from that day on and she was a great writer. If it wasn’t for Anne Franks diary, then we probably wouldn’t know her amazing story. Anne Frank was born on 1929, June 12, practically in the beginning of all the chaos. She was born in Frankfurt, Germany. Anne’s parents were Otto and Edith Frank. Her older sister was named Margot. In the book Anne Frank: Her Life and Words and Pictures, Anne says, “My father, the most adorable father I have ever seen, didn't marry my mother until he was thirty-six and she was twenty five. Anne’s parents were also very involved with them and all around good parents. When Anne was old enough, she started to attend Montessori school. She was very outspoken in class and very friendly. Anne loved to read and write, as well, but she never shared her writings with anyone. Anne says in the book Anne Frank: Her Life and Words and Pictures, “I started right away at the Montessori nursery school. I stayed there until I was six, at which time I stayed in first form… Our lives were not without anxiety, since our relatives in Germany were suffering under Hitler’s anti-Jewish laws.” On Anne’s thirteenth birthday, her father gave her a diary and she named it kitty.
