“21st Century Teachers should incorporate digital and social media to engage students”
In the 21st century, children from three-years of age are increasingly using digital media facilitated by their parents. Digital information comes in different formats including through literature, video-streaming services such as YouTube, and collaboration through social media such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+. These can be incorporated into a learning environment that engages students (eg. http://bertylee.weebly.com). Primary-aged children are increasingly accustomed to tablets and other touch screen devices, and we see evidence of this daily.
