Dostaler, I & Tomberlin provoked by the Khurana’s (2007) book on the development of American Business schools. And the following are the basis of his argument presented in article.
a) Business school as being “On the wrong track” as a result of their focus scientific research illustrate in the article called Harvard Business Review article (2005), Bennis and O’Toole.
b) Sharply disagreeable criticism on Ford and the Carnegie Foundations on the state of theory and research in business administration in late 1950s.

the arguments presented are well supported by 1) First Forays into Business Research which explains there is some gaps between research and business practice. 2) The New look program which encourages both case method from HBS and disciplinary research from GSIA.
Finally, these developments are forced the business schools to employ non-business disciplinary professors without business experiences.
iii) What are the key messages contained in the respective articles?
Key messages:
a) There is gaps between research and business practice today which requires development and evolution of research in University based business schools.
b) We should gather more evidences among (professors, students, advisors and administrators) to reach agreement in order to prove the gap between research and business practice.
c) There are necessary structural and cultural changes can be achieved in business school after the above agreement

a) Scathing analysis of business schools by Gordon and Howell (1959) explains that the business schools’ emphasis more on vocation educations than the foundation in research which end up with poor research papers.
b) Report by Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business(AACSB) on the impact of research in business school suggests that the faculty members are given less focus on teaching than the research.
These above reasons stop the scholarly research which helps develop knowledge in the specialized fields which leads need for improvement in the evaluation of research articles.
