In this book, Scott offers many miracle cures that happened during the medieval and early modern times. He has expounded the idea of how belief, hope, and emotion big a big role in healing. In the first chapter, he introduces the readers to the life during the Middle Ages. He gives the readers many details about peasant’s life, for the readers to picture what life was like for these poor peasants. He discusses the challenges that peasant faced each day.
