Education America has a large window of opportunities for everyone. Among these opportunities, America offers free public education. The quality of free education offered in America is determined by the student's, teachers, legislatures and everyone that is involved in the education aspect of a community. There’s always room for improvement, and by the looks of things, improvement is what the American education system desperately needs. America’s failing education system is causing our inability to compete in a global market, because the education system doesn’t receive enough funding, it is not able to adapt to the recent changes; high school does not prepare students for further education. It is proven that people in an enriched environment will prosper more than those who are deprived. What kids learn today, will be used tomorrow. The limited funding for education results in America’s inability to compete economically. As said by John T. Harvey, a professor of Economics at Texas Christian University, “it has allowed governors and legislators to reduce expenditures with clear conscience and relatively little backlash from voters… these actions will almost certainly reduce state budgets even further in the future. This is because there is a high correlation between educational levels and income, and between income and tax revenues. If we short change our schools today, this will affect the quality of education our children receive”(Harvey). What Harvey means by this is, shortening education budgets now will eventually progress to even less funding. He also implies that the amount of education someone receives has an effect on their income. As said by Corey Turner, “And, perhaps most remarkable, the funding led to a nearly 10 percent increase in low-income students' adult earnings.”(Turner), more education funding leads to increased adult
