Anti Gun Control In today’s world the way people perceive things in the media is really messed up. Many believe that the reason behind the gun violence in the United States is the gun itself, but really it the person behind the it. In most states a person will have to go an intense background checks just to purchase a gun; to be able to carry the gun on your person is another story. Many people who conceal and carry many have to go through an even more intense background check and classes. Majority of people in the country believe that there should be a ban on all assault weapons, which is what the the army uses to defend the nation. Gun control laws should be relaxed. The ban of assault weapons would go against so many american rules and laws. “The banning of assault weapons would violate the 2nd amendment”(Assault Weapons). The ban of assault weapons would send an uproar through the whole country. Crimes involving guns are becoming less common. “The rate of crimes with guns has dropped nearly 50% in the 20 years” (Gresham). The crimes have dropped because of how much the gun laws have changed to have more safety regulation put on the way someone can acquire guns. There would be chaos if there was a ban on assault weapons, people would be protesting due to owning guns being a right. “Americans have the right to possess assault weapons for self-defense” (Assault Weapons). The people of the United States care about their safety and if they have a chance to protect themselves they will take that opportunity. A study from a university in 2015 polled that “ 58% support assault weapon ban, 38% oppose and 4% are unsure” (Assault Weapons). In general people who are for the assault weapon ban didn’t grow up or have spent a lot of time with guns in their life.
