Animal testing has improved the lives of millions of people over its years of operation but should not be thought of as a permanent solution. The act of physical animal testing is a dated way to improve human welfare. Modern day technology can be used to replicate the genetic makeup of humans and animals by eliminating harm and death completely.
The continued developments in technology have the potential to replace immoral animal testing with virtual lab experiments. Computer simulations have many positive aspects that could increase the reliability of trial drugs and medical surgeries. This would benefit human health as more accurate data would be targeted towards human health. At the same time, this would decrease unnecessary pain and suffering of lab animals. Invasive animal testing often requires large blocks of time to be sectioned off to establish consistent, accurate and reliable results. The use of computer models work efficiently to determine concrete solutions to be released and used for public purposes. From the Eighth Edition: Guide and Care for Laboratory Animals it was stated that in many experiments malfunctions occur in the lab testers which prolong the process of finding a cure for a certain disease or issue (Garbet, 2011 p.6).
