Have you ever wondered if there is a way to end pain in the United States? Many people blame much of this pain and violence on the lack of strong gun control regulations in the United States. This has lead to the debate of whether enacting stronger gun control laws would help to solve the problem of gun violence. The United States should not put into place more severe gun control laws because they are ineffective and won’t make the US safer.
There are many examples in the US where gun control hasn’t prevented gun violence. A recent Quinnipiac University study suggests, “states with stricter concealed-carry laws have higher murder rates than states that are less restrictive.” This information demonstrates the fact that in places with more restrictive gun control, there is often more gun violence. This represents how gun control measures in states have not had a positive effect. Since the violence rates didn’t fall when restrictions were put into place, it is evidence that the restrictions do not help. The laws did not make the US safer. …show more content…

Professor Jacobs of NYU states, “When you ban the assault weapon, the manufacturers respond by changing the models of the weapon. They make weapons that look a lot like the ones that are banned, but don’t have all the features that triggered the prohibition.” The gun manufacturers only slightly redesign their weapons so that it is not banned, but is still the same gun. If the guns are essentially the same as the guns that were banned, nothing was actually accomplished to keep this supposedly dangerous weapon out of people’s hands. This renders this law pointless and ineffective. This type of ban has not made America
