Arguments Against Legalizing Marijuana

Some people might think legalizing marijuana, that it will stop drug trafficking. Other believes that marijuana should be legal because it brings about more drug abusing. Where I am in this argument is that I disagree with that marijuana should be legalized. The reason why I oppose with this side of the argument is because when marijuana is legalize people would start abusing, start trafficking to different countries, American gangs, and how marijuana can affect your social life as well. One of my reasons of why legalizing marijuana is a terrible idea, is that once marijuana is legalize people are going to think that it’s ok to use marijuana. Once you have wasted all your money on drug you’ll already addicted to marijuana so there rely on stealing and other stuff that would get you money to buy drugs. This is really harmful for the community because once you are addicted to the drug you won’t want to stop more people would be getting robbed, raped, and deaths. They are all doing this for that joy of being high or not being sober. “Such costs include the treatment of drug users who acquired HIV by sharing contaminated needles; the treatment of infants exposed to alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs before birth; and the treatment of cancer and other diseases caused by smoking tobacco and marijuana and by exposure to secondhand smoke”(drug abuse).
