Leadership is an important contributor to organizational success. Without leadership, the vision, mission, and objectives of an organization cannot meet its vision or objectives.may not be achieved. Leadership provide a safe and high-quality workplace environment by empowering, engaging and influencing employees to accomplish specific goals. Besides the different styles and theories, leadership concept comprises principles that individuals should master to lead effectively. It is obvious that the skills set, and qualities of leadership cannot all be applied in an organization. However, some styles and theories appear to be more effective than others depending on organization structure. In health care, for instance, leadership plays an important role in patient safety and quality care. Indeed, health professionals can have a substantial impact on patients’ outcomes by encouraging their adherence to treatment and minimizing the cost of medications or tests. However, these outcomes can be effective mainly if health professionals apply structured leadership methods. As leaders, health professionals should design their approaches around trust, education, compassion, and health promotion to provide a unique relationship to their patients whom will not hesitate to seek their leadership for advice or diagnosis (Trastek, Hamilton & Niles, 2013). Furthermore, to improve patient quality care in health organizations, it is crucial for providers to develop leadership frameworks that emphasize ethics and an organization’s professional values. Leaders should be able to develop functional leadership teams able to work efficiently. Researchers evaluated several theories of leadership in health care and concluded a transformational leadership style could improve patient safety (McFadden Stock & Gowen, 2015).
