Both Buddhism and Islam have analogous ethical laws and a set of rules to follow in order to secure a path into the afterlife. Furthermore, the two religions have stories regarding life after death and the formation of the individual faith itself. The fundamental beliefs of Islam and Buddhism shape the everyday life of their followers providing them with a clear pathway to be followed to achieve salvation in the afterlife. It can be argued that religion permeates the activities of religious adherents. Death is inevitable "Every soul shall have a taste of death: and only on the Day of Judgement shall you be paid your full recompense" - (Quran 3:185). Muslims believe all is maintained by Allah their one and only God and at the moment of death Allah will weigh your deeds and determine the path you will take. Islam was founded roughly 1500 years ago by the prophet Muhammad when he experienced a divine vision called Archangel Gabriel (The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 2015). Thus, the Qur'an was born. The Qur'an is considered a very important piece of scripture to all believers of Islam. The Five Pillars are also mentioned in the Qur'an and are compulsory to Islamic adherents. To elaborate, these pillars are the framework to Muslim life. They consist of The Testimony of Faith, Prayer, Giving Zakat, Fasting the Month of Ramadan and The Pilgrimage to Mecca - (Islam-guide.com, 2015). The Prophet Muhammad taught people that all humans are equal - (Onislam.net, 2015). In addition, the Prophet himself is considered so holy that Islam forbids images of Muhammad. Unfortunately, due to the stereotypical perspectives of Islam, society isn't very engaging of Muslim people. This is because of catastrophic events held responsible by Islamic terrorists.
