Working in the construction industry has been something that I have enjoyed doing for the last five years. What I enjoyed the most about construction is that every day brings something new. As each construction site is different with its own set of new challenges. I first started working in the field as an apprentice latching on to anybody that would teach me. After a while I had moved up to full time estimator and assisted in project management. I enjoyed what I was doing and becoming a civil engineer was the next step in my evolving career. By transferring to California Baptist University (CBU) I will receive a quality education that will prepare me with the tools required to be a successful civil engineer. The Jesus Christ centered education that I will receive by attending CBU will help in my mental and spiritual development for the rest of my life. The whole fall quarter has been nothing short of challenging. Having struggled the whole fall quarter trying to keep up has been a humbling experience. Transferring to CBU will offer me the opportunity to return to a semester system which is better suited for me academically. CBU also offers the convenience of a short commute to campus from home. Living so close to the campus grants me the additional free time in which would other whys be spent driving. With this additional time, I plan to join a club and get involved with on campus activities. Being able to meet, and get to know my fellow class mates while being positive influences in each other’s
